Major Creek Reserve, Micthellstone Vic

Another overnight “Swag” at   Major Creek Reserve well the weekend started on the Friday catching up at  Royal Mail Hotel, Nagambie  for a feed where some went out and set up camp that night and others had planned to arrive on the Saturday.

We arrived around 1pm on the Saturday where Scott + Sue Steve +Son and Shane + Tracy had already arrived, a constant look at the weather apps for a few hours as several storm fronts threatened to come through this area, fortunately for us we missed any rain but some areas further south coped a drenching.

More friend arrived during the evening Jamie + Fee as well as Hutchie + Wendy afternoon of catching up, drinks well into the night with a trailer load of fire wood that Scott sourced for the 2 nights all in bed around Midnight a long night with many laughs, managed to break the camp chair which will need to be replaced. Up around 6am to a fire which had been stoked and a cloudless sky and nice sunrise over the trees.

Leisurely pack up after pancakes for breakfast home early as this camp was only around 50mins from home definitely a place to come back too for many reasons particularly how close to home and how close you can camp against the creek

Molyullah Recreation Reserve. Molyullah Vic

Spent the afternoon, evening and night “swaging” at Molyullah Rec Reserve for a combined 60th birthday for Barry & Louise. Location was picked as Barry spent this area in his early years and obviously holds some fond memories for them.

We arrived around 3L30 and the event was in full swing great food was put on for dinner and “coffee” cart was also on location for the evening offering coffees, iced drinks and hot chocolates, We put up our camp at hundred or some metres for the main are and thankfully we did as the parry continued to daylight.

On the way home we stopped at Hides Bakery  in Benalla for a breakfast and back home by 10:30am a day of rest and naps

an enjoyable overnight camp

Stringybark Creek, Tolmie Vic

Set of for 2 nights to StringybarkCreek arrived Sat morning set up again quite quickly and set up camp for the afternoon with the “mut” who behaved very well, Early afternoon for drinks and a meal of lemon and herb chicken with salad, a nice meal followed by a few hours around the camp fire.

Added more wood to the fire, and found some nice pieces (we stopped to collect as you do) used some and brought the other home for next time. Hot water bottles made then off to bed where Snoopy slept the night away on the bed with his own “hot water bottle”

Woke Sunday to “ice” on the car and camper was bloody cold, after some discussion around other dogs in the camp who were becoming annoying when Linda took Snoopy for a walk, no shade where we were and the possibility of a wet pack up we head back home after a breakfast of champions (see pics) arriving home mid-afternoon and planning a day trip on the Monday to Swan Hill
