Snakes Reserve, Jamieson Vic

Weekend Fri-Sun camping back at Snakes Reserve. Arrived around Midday Fri soon followed by Malcolm & Nikki where we spent the afternoon just sitting around doing not much. Jason & Julie+ Tait arrived just on dark to set up in their newly purchased camper then much latter Craig arrived and set up his swag (We spent a weekend some years ago at Bindaree Hut with Jason, Julie, Tait and Craig which we reminisced over the fire as to “how cold it was that weekend” the conversations continued to after Midnight

Sat up for a “BIG BREEKI” on the webber another great camping breakfast run out of gas for the bottle that is hooked up to the camper kitchen so we had to put the 2nd bottle (webber) back and use that for the rest of the weekend, no webber now.
Lazy afternoon with everyone just sitting under the shade around there campers, latter in the afternoon the customary “happy hour” around the fire followed by a diner of sag sauce and pasta few drinks and in bed by 10pm

Up latter then we wanted to be on the Sunday, packed up and was first to leave, decided to have breakfast in a cafe in Jamieson on the way home so Linda can catch up on Facebook!!

A fruitful weekend agreed on next destination for the long weekend in March, and some interest in camping at Craig’s Hut.

Emmylou Paddle-steamer, Echuca

Spent the night on the Emmylou paddle-steamer with a few camping friends (Hutchie + Wendy, Scott + Sue and Geoff + Kay) arrived in Echuca just after lunch so we headed to the bakery where we caught up with all except Scott & Sue who were at the wharf.

When we all found each other it was decided to buy a lotto ticket as there was some “super draw “on The Sat, this ended up being a non-event we won nothing.

While waiting to board the steamer we had a few drinks at a local pub, cars secured for the evening, bags in rooms and all ready for dinner on the back deck. Nice dinner, drinks at reasonable prices at the bar and during the evening Linda was crook but as always came good (we think wine) was the culprit.

Dropped all the dinner guests off around 9pm then those staying overnight which was only 12 people we set for a river bank up stream where a fire was lit by the Captain, a few drinks were consumed and bed around midnight. A humorous night as usual with a great bunch of people we tend to go camping with often

Woke up around 6:30am as we wanted to see the sunrise, just about everyone had the same idea as the sun rise was quite nice, no clouds and the rising sun behind the Emmylou looked quite spectacular (something we will probably not do again)

Breakfast on the deck, and quite a good breakfast it was. Back to dock @9am off the boat picked up the cars and home within the hour
